At this meeting we will evaluate your yard, discuss your needs, and talk about your dreams for the space. This will inform the design brief and and enable us to give you an estimate of what a detailed design will cost.
Depending on the size and scope of the project, it may be necessary to obtain a site survey from a survey company to map the existing boundaries, site contours, vegetation, and structures. For smaller projects, we will use county records and take measurements ourselves.
We will provide you with a master design plan including the 2D plan, 3D sketches, and mood boards for your approval. These plans will help you to visualize your new yard.
These are the detailed plans from which a landscape contractor will be able to do a cost proposal and build your dream space. They include documents such as construction drawings, materials specifications, drainage plans, irrigation plans, and lighting plans.
The planting plan shows the layout and spacing for the entire project including existing and new plants. We also provide a plant schedule which details the quantity, names, and sizes of all the plants to be purchased.
We will assist you with selecting a qualified landscape contractor to build your design. We will also make periodic visits to the site while it is being constructed to answer questions and make suggestions.
We love looking at your tricky flower beds, window boxes, and scraggly lawns and helping you come up with solutions. We also offer hourly consulting services on edible landscapes, permaculture, wildlife habitats, composting, rain gardens, pollinator gardens, drainage issues, and more. We can even help by providing plants and furniture at a discount.
Alison will happily speak about plants and landscape design to groups! Get in touch to discuss details and potential topics for your garden club, student group or other civic organization.
